we went to the Robert Mapplethorpe retrospective at C/O Berlin, my favorite photography museum maybe in the world. his work makes me want to be a better artist, just better all around. he was such a master, his passion is clear and his art is so unpretentious. fearless. i almost cried twice. in a good way. inspiration. i aspire to be him. i truly do. i wish i could have met him. i wish i had been there then. not that i don’t love here now. but there then seemed very special.
